DEPARTMENT OF EAR, NOSE AND THROAT- HEAD AND NECK SURGERY (ENT- HNS)
The department of Ear, Nose and throat-Head and Neck surgery (ENT-HNS), also known as Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery (ORL-HNS), is under the Directorate of clinical services of Federal Medical Centre Bida.
This department has been saddled with the mandate of the delivery of all levels of medical care services to people (clients) presenting to this facility with diverse diseases or disorders or ailment of ear nose, throat and other related parts of head and neck either on self referral or internal referral or external referral basis.
The department also engages in the tertiary medical academic programmes and activities.
Clinical care service delivery in the department
Clinical care services delivery to people/clients with otorhinolaryngologic, head and neck diseases or disorders is through the following channels:

Departmental Activities
Monday:- Grand Round Presentation 7:30 – 9:30am.
Consultant wards round/Teaching round from 10am.
Audiology and hearing services.
ENT Nursing care services.
ENT emergency services 24hrs daily.
Speech therapy services.
Tuesday:- ENT counseling/Health talk 8:30 – 9:00am.
ENT consultant out-patient clinics from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
Pre-operative ward round.
24hours daily ENT emergency services.
Audiology and hearing service.
ENT Nursing care services.
Resident/Medical officers ward round.
Wednesday:-Elective ENT surgical operation services from 8:00am
Audiology and hearing services.
Speech therapy care services.
ENT Nursing care services.
Post-operative ward round.
Thursday:- Resident ward round.
ENT counseling/Health talk 8:30am-9:00am.
ENT consultant out-patient clinic session 9:00am-2:00pm
24hours daily ENT emergency care services.
Audiology and hearing services.
ENT Nursing care services.
Friday:- Clinico-pathological presentation/Journal review.
Morbidity/Mortality review 8:00–9:30am (last Friday of the month).
